“It’s Monday – No Whistling After 11pm (if you are in Athens, GA)” – And other weird Georgia laws

Daily writing prompt
If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

Can we first take a moment to see what kind of ridiculous laws are out there? My state has some hilarious ones! In Quitman, Ga, it is illegal for a chicken to cross the road. In Columbus, Ga, people can’t buy corn flakes on Sundays, and definitely don’t get caught cussing over the phone there. In Atlanta, don’t get caught giving someone a piggyback ride. Wild, right? Here’s a blog that posts more weird laws in Georgia: 31 Weird Georgia Laws.

Now to answer the prompt: one law I would change is making faked deaths illegal. The reason is based on an author who faked her death and got away with tons of money from other authors who grieved over her for several years. I guess she was bored because she suddenly “came back to life” to continue pursuing her writing career. It was cruel what she did. The people who supported her suffered in mental health, time and money over her selfish actions.

Anyhow, who wants to go to Gainsville, Ga, and eat chicken with a fork? Just kidding. It’s against the law.
